TKR: pleasures of a minimally invasive technique
65 year old female with advanced
osteoarthritis both knees. She had been carrying on with medications for last 8
years, not convinced enough for surgery. Besides, she had diabetes mellitus,
hypertension and had had one event of stroke (fully recovered by now). So there
were apprehensions of a successful outcome. She was operated wherein both knees
were operated using minimally invasive technique and medial pivot microport
knee implant. The post-operative period was uneventful. These pictures were
contributed by the patient herself, from her bedroom, at 3 weeks after surgery.
Notice the good range of motion, good bending angle and small surgical scars.
